Unvented Cylinder Experts
An unvented cylinder is a sealed hot water system fed directly from the mains, delivering strong, balanced pressure to several outlets at once with no loft tank taking up space. It is a popular upgrade for busy households, but it is a pressurised system that must be installed correctly to be safe.
By law, unvented cylinders must be fitted by an installer holding the recognised G3 qualification and the work must comply with Part G3 of the Building Regulations. Miller & Sons are G3 qualified and either notify Building Control or work under a competent person scheme, so your installation is fully compliant and certified.
Every system is fitted with the mandatory safety components: a temperature and pressure relief valve, expansion vessel, check valve, pressure reducing valve and correctly sized discharge pipework routed safely to outside. We assess your mains pressure and flow rate first, because good performance depends on an adequate supply.
Installation usually takes one to two days, longer if pipework or electrics need upgrading. The cylinder can be paired with a gas boiler, immersion heater, heat pump or solar thermal, and we recommend an annual safety check to keep valves, the expansion vessel and pressure settings in good order.
